Ingress Protection Tests (Enclosures Protection)

The IP tests are regulated in Europe by the standard CEI EN / IEC 60529 1997-06 (IEC529 ex CEI 70-1) + A1 2000-06 + A2: 2014/12 "Degrees of protection of enclosures", capable of establishing a degree of protection of the internal parts of any electrical equipment or material, the rated voltage of which does not exceed 72.5 kV. This standard allows you to indicate, through the IP code (Degree of Protection), the level of protection of the enclosures for electrical material, against access to dangerous parts inside the enclosure and against the penetration of solid foreign bodies (as well as dust) and water.

Our laboratory is able to test all IP degrees below following the standards:

CEI EN / IEC 60529 ; CEI EN / IEC 60335 ; CEI EN / IEC 60034-5 ; ISO 20653

Often we perform IP tests on-site at the customer facility worldwide, if the sample is difficult to transport or too big because of the size, so do not hesitate to contact us for any query about it.
As for the IPX8 degree (the degree of immersion) we can reach depths of 4500 meters, 450 bars (the limit is the sample size).
We can simulate depth by carrying out pressure tests starting from 1 meter depth (IPX7/IPX8) up to over 4000 meters (400 bar), up to a maximum of 4500 meters (450 bar) on samples with maximum dimensions of 1000x1000x1800(h) mm :
IPX8 Grade Immersion Test
Immersion Depth Immersion test at 20 meters depth (2 bar)
Immersion test at 30 meters depth (3 bar)
Immersion test at 40 meters depth (4 bar)
Immersion test at 50 meters depth (5 bar)
Immersion test at 60 meters depth (6 bar)
Immersion test at 70 meters depth (7 bar)
Immersion test at 80 meters depth (8 bar)
Immersion test at 90 meters depth (9 bar)
Immersion test at 100 meters depth (10 bar) and multiples.. on samples of maximum dimensions 1000x1000x1800(h) mm
Immersion test at 500 meters depth (50 bar) and multiples..
Immersion test at 1000 meters depth (100 bar) and multiples..
Immersion test at 2000 meters depth (200 bar) and multiples..
Immersion test at 3000 meters depth (300 bar) Immersion test limit
Immersion test at 4000 meters depth (400 bar) We can simulate the depth by carrying out pressure tests starting from 1 meter depth (IPX7/IPX8) up to over 4000 meters (400 bar), up to a maximum of 4500 meters (450 bar)
Immersion test at 4500 meters depth (450 bar) maximum depth achievable

For larger products we can accommodate samples in an autoclave with a diameter of 2 meters (2000 mm) and a height of 3.5 meters (3500 mm), simulating a depth of 500 meters (50 bar).
For smaller samples (max. dimensions 9x4 cm) in a small autoclave, at a reduced cost we can get to test products up to 1500 meters deep (150 bar).
For samples up to 95x95x100(h) cm ~ we have an autoclave that we often use for IPX8 tests up to 40 meters deep (4 bar).

Autoclave Testing Capabilities for IPX8 Test

Autoclave Type Max Sample Dimensions Max Depth Pressure
Very Large Autoclave 2 meters (2000 mm) diameter, 3.5 meters (3500 mm) height 500 meters 50 bar
Large Autoclave 95x95x100(h) cm 40 meters 4 bar
Small Autoclave 9x4 cm 1500 meters 150 bar
